Jim Quirk

  • 1992 - High school football in the Shore Conference.

  • 2001 - Began working in the Arena 2 Football League, working the Arena Cup in 2007.

  • 2002 - Promoted to the Atlantic 10 Conference and then to Conference USA.

  • 2005-2006 -NFL Europe

  • 2010 - Hired as an NFL official, working as a FJ, BJ and SJ, including playoff games at two of those positions.

  • Currently resides in Holmdel, NJ with his wife Anissa and their three daughters, Abbey, Emma and Rachel.

Ron Torbert

  • Ron Torbert has been officiating football for 31 years.

  • 1989 - began his officiating career working high school varsity and sub-varsity games with a crew based in Lansing, Michigan.  During his ten years as a high school official, Ron was an umpire, line judge and referee.

  • 1999 - transitioned to collegiate officiating when he joined the staff of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.  He spent six years in the GLIAC as a head linesman/ line judge and referee, receiving four playoff assignments, including an NCAA Division II National Semifinal game.

  • 2005 - joined the staff of the Mid-American Conference as a referee and line judge.

  • 2006 - 2009 - field judge and referee in the Big Ten Conference, earning two post-season Bowl assignments.

  • 2997 - worked in NFL-Europe during its final season in 2007.

  • 2010 - joined the National Football League’s officiating staff as a side judge.

  • 2014 - moved to referee in 2014 where he has spent the past six seasons.

  • Has received seven NFL post-season playoff assignments.

  • Ron lives in Maryland with his wife, Melanie and has two children (Harold and Veronica) and one grandson (Elliott).

  • Recently retired from the active practice of law after 30 years.  Most recently, Ron was Vice President and General Counsel for Barton Malow Company, a national construction management and general contracting firm based in Southfield, Michigan.

Jim Schmale

  • Jim began his high school football officiating career in New Jersey working for the Central Jersey Chapter of the NJFOA.

  • 2007 - entered the collegiate officiating ranks working in the ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference) as a Line Judge.

  • 2008 - while still in the ECAC, moved to the Umpire position.

  • 2010 - hired by the ECFOA (Eastern Collegiate Football Officials Association) as an Umpire, working DII, DIII games in the PSAC, NJAC, and MAC.

  • After several years in the ECFOA, he was hired by the NEC (Northeast Conference) where he continues to work DI football as an Umpire.

  • He has worked ECAC Bowl Championship and NCAA DII playoff games, and as a Sideline Communicator for the 2017 Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium.

  • Jim currently resides in Manville, NJ. and has been an Elementary Physical Education teacher for the past 21 years.
